Yanqing, Beijing has followed the guidelines for all-area tourism development by improving the space allocation, integrating urban-rural, land and environment plans and putting into practice major tourism projects. It has well integrated the residential and tourism areas by developing the tourism complex and major scenic spots of mountains and rivers. It has well echoed the the “1+N” policy of all-area tourism by initiating a series of policy papers.

Centered on the two events of the Winter Olympics and the World Horticultural Expo, Yanqing is changing the closed tourism mode into an open mode by combining tourism with agriculture, forestry, industry, sports, culture, health, transportation, and geology. Now the tourism recreation products include the Great Wall culture, Ice and Snow, Avoiding Summer Heat, Climbing and Fitness, Low-Altitude Flight, Bicycle Tourism, Folk Custom Cuisine, Flower Watching and Picking, Motor Home Camping and Hot Springs.

Tourism is also combined with characteristic counties for the World Horticultural Expo, ice and snow counties for the Winter Olympics, and the cluster of countryside inns. Featured items include Yanqing Village for the Winter Olympics, the National Sleigh Centre, the National Mountain Skiing Centre, the Garden Areas of the World Horticultural Expo, and Beijing Training Base for Ice-Relevant Sports. There are 12 fine tourism routes for the World Horticultural Expo and 8 beautiful cycling rotes with smooth traffic.
