British Library executive chief: people get pleasure from reading

April 23rd marks the annual World Book and Copyright Day. And China is home to one of the world's largest groups of readers. 

To directly engage with Chinese readers, Caroline Brazier, Chief Librarian of the British Library, was promoting a literature exhibition by the British Library in Beijing. 

Titled "Shakespeare to Sherlock: Treasures of the British Library", the two-month-long exhibition is being held at the National Library of China, which opened on April 21st. 

During Caroline Brazier's short stay in Beijing, Horizons' Yin Xiuqi talked to her in an exclusive interview. 

She told Horizons that "books will be around for a long time. And people will still get a lot of pleasure from reading."
