A Chinese woman bought the former home of U.S. President Donald Trump in Queens County of New York, The New York Times has reported.

The 186-square meter house was sold a week ago to a newly registered company called the Trump Birth House at 2.14 million US dollars, twice as much as other houses in the region would go for.

A neighbor said the house was bought for the buyer's son, who is studying in the region.

The house was built by Donald Trump's father Fred C. Trump in 1940. Donald Trump was born there and lived in the house for four years.
