Zhang Jing, who has worked as a nurse with the Sichuan provincial hospital for 26 years, said the inspiration for her patents came from her patients and her daily nursing experience.

For example, Zhang invented a portable toilet, installed within a hospital bed. If a patients need to relieve themselves, they only need to press a button on the bed, and the toilet will rise automatically for them to use. The toilet can also wash and dry the patients after use.

Apart from the patents, Zhang also gained a law degree by self-study, which she hopes will help her in her nursing work.
