Chinese, Slovenian presidents exchange congratulations on anniversary of formal ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Slovenian President Borut Pahor on Friday exchanged congratulatory messages to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between their countries.

In his message, Xi said that China and Slovenia enjoy traditional friendship, and that in the past 25 years, they have developed relations on the basis of mutual respect and trust, equality, mutual benefit, win-win cooperation and common development, bringing tangible benefits to both sides.

Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Slovenia relations, and expressed his willingness to work with the Slovenian president, taking the opportunity of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties, to deepen the traditional friendship between the two peoples and push forward practical cooperation in all fields, in order to better benefit the two countries and the two peoples.

In his message, Pahor said Slovenia hopes to further strengthen its friendly ties with China, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields, and expand cooperation in international affairs, so as to tackle new challenges facing the international community.
