The 24-year-old met and chatted with Thomas Gass, Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination and Inter-Agency Affairs.

Through the meeting, the two say they hope to call on people from all areas of the society, especially young people, to pay more attention to the oceans and take part in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In June, Ning Zetao sent a video message to mark the start of the Ocean Conference, a high-level United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
