In China Yellow Wine Museum located in Shaoxing, words on a wooden board introduce the very brief history of the yellow wine.

Two places in east China’s Zhejiang province were in the spotlight this week. Shaoxing, where yellow wine is mainly produced, provided five tons of yellow wine to Wuzhen, where the 2nd World Internet Conference was held between December 16 to 18.

Guests of the conference have tasted and enjoyed Shaoxing yellow wine in Wuzhen.

He Xiaogang, top leader of China Shaoxing Yellow Rice Wine Group said that their Guyuelongshan yellow wine is one of the official wines at the conference.

Hu Zhiming, a brew master of yellow wine and an intangible cultural heritage inheritor of it, supervised the Guyuelongshan wine that provided to the conference. He believes that Shaoxing yellow wine does not only has a long history and rich culture, but also bears the function of helping people keep healthy.

Since the 1970s, Shaoxing yellow wine has been often used at big occasions between Chinese and foreign leaders. For example, in September this year, the wine was feasted at the state dinner at the White House between US President Barack Obama and visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping. As a special cultural ambassador, Shaoxing yellow wine has witnessed the friendships between China and other countries.
