Charming Beijing promotion event was held in Budapest, Hungary

On March 11 local time, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism held the Charming Beijing promotion event in Budapest, Hungary. The event showed the charm of Chinese culture to Hungarian people through various activities.

During the promotion event, Maria Bob, Minister of Budapest Ministry of Tourism and Holidays said that Hungary had rich tourism resources. As an international tourism city, Budapest is well-known among Chinese people. In 2017, the number of exchange visitors of Hungary and China reached 250 thousand in total, with a year-on-year increase of 32%. The enhancement of cooperation between Hungary and China will benefit both countries. Maria hoped that Hungary and China would deepen cooperation in the future and Hungary would keep providing Chinese tourists with convenient service and comfortable experience.

Shi Anping, the inspector of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism said that under the Belt and Road Initiative, the cooperation between Hungary and China had made great achievements. 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and China. In this year, the potential for the cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism will be improved. Beijing is constructing sub-center of the city and preparing for 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and this has brought new opportunities for the development of tourism to the city. Shi hoped that the cooperation between Hungary and Beijing would be enhanced, and he warmly invited Hungarian people to Beijing.

Charming Beijing photo exhibition was held in Budapest Confucius Institute during the event. The photos showed the cultural deposits and fashionable image of Beijing to Hungarian people.
