On September 10, under the witness of Mr. Li Yi, Secretary of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC) Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of CFLAC, Mr. Zhang Xian, Vice Chairman of China Television Artists Association (CTAA), Mr. Gonzarice, Director of the Latin American Parliament General Office and other Chinese and Panamanian guests, Fujian Media Group and Panama National Television formally signed a memorandum about broadcasting each other's programs, personnel exchanges and other cooperation activities. This signing ceremony of China-Panama TV cooperation also kicked off the Panama session of 2019 China Today Arts Week in Latin America. China-Panama High-level Culture Forum, Chinese City Image Film Exhibition and Contemporary Chinese Print Art Exhibition were also held simultaneously.

Co-hosted by CFLAC, Ministry of Culture of Panama and Chinese Embassy in Panama, China-Panama High-level Culture Forum is themed on "Facilitating Cultural Cooperation, Promoting China-Panama People-to-People Exchanges". Secretary and Vice Chairman Li Yi and Mr. Carlos Aguilar, Minister of Culture of Panama delivered a keynote speech respectively. The guests from China and Panama held three dialogues on the themes of "International Cultural Exchange", "International Film and Television Dissemination" and "Painting and Sculpture Appreciation", etc. The exchanges of ideas and sharing of experiences and wisdom among the guests further opened the door to mutual understanding between the cultural and art circles of China and Panama.

Selected films of Chinese City Image Film Exhibition

Chinese City Image Film Exhibition selected the latest image films of 32 cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Nanjing, Xi 'an, Shenzhen, Jilin, Altay, Xiangyang, Yingtan, Xiong'an, etc., and displayed these films to the public through the big screen on the 5th floor of Panama City's largest Comprehensive Square Shopping Center. The display lasted from July 29, 2019 to September 8, 2019 and ran for eight hours a day. These films have attracted wide attention. By watching them, many Panamanians have appreciated both natural and humanity beauties of Chinese cities, tasted the colorful urban landscapes and regional cultures of China, and experienced the great achievements and changes of the People's Republic of China since its founding 70 years ago. After watching these films, the Panamanians also expressed their desires to visit China.

China-Panama High-level Culture Forum scene

China Today Arts Week is a non-profit exchange activity held abroad annually by CFLAC to comprehensively demonstrate the contemporary Chinese culture and art. It is to promote mutual understanding and friendship between artists and peoples of different nationalities by sharing the charm and achievements of culture and art in the Chinese civilization. Launched in 2004, this Arts Week has been held in 17 countries and regions around the world.

The 2019 China Today Arts Week marks CTAA's first time to participate this Arts Week. This is also the first time that city-themed TV art activities have been included. The purpose is to set up visual cultural signs of cities, to refine the beauty of cities and to deepen the international influence of Chinese cities, so as to attract more audiences to appreciate the real and moving stories of cities in China. CTAA sent the Chinese TV art delegation to Panama to carry out the film screening and forum exchange activities. This delegation has six members, including Mr. Zhang Xian, Vice Chairman of CTAA and also the head of this delegation, Ms. Zhou Tao, chief performance officer of Beijing Performance & Arts Group, Mr. Li Dongshen, president of Beijing Bojing Culture & Media Co., Ltd and documentary director, Mr. Ye Xiongbiao, vice president of Fujian Media Group, etc.
