2019 Industry Interconnection and Digital Economy Conference & 2nd Industrial Internet Platform Innovation and Development Conference kicked off in Suzhou

On November 6th, 2019, the 2019 Industry Interconnection and Digital Economy Conference & 2nd Industrial Internet Platform Innovation and Development Conference kicked off in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. Themed on 'Exploring the Paths of Digital Conversion', the conference is showcasing the all-round innovative development of China's industrial internet platform. Wang Xinzhe, chief economist with Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of People's Republic of China (MIIT), Zhuang Shuxin, Zhuang Shuxin, deputy secretary-general of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of People's Republic of China (SASAC), Zhao Dejiang, member of the Party Leadership Group of and secretary-general of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), Lan Shaomin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee, Ma Qiulin, Vice Governor of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, and Zhang Lefu, deputy secretary-general of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, as well as over 2000 representatives from various research institutions, financial institutions, industrial organizations and key enterprises attended the conference.

Wang Xinzhe, chief economist with MIIT, said that as an important cornerstone of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the key support to the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, the industrial internet is accelerating the development of digital industrialization and boosting the digital conversion of industries. With the joint efforts from all sectors of the society, China's industrial internet has entered a fast lane, and the three major systems including network, platform and security have made all-round breakthroughs. Next, MIIT will, based on the guideline issued by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, focus on breakthroughs in core technologies, consolidate the foundation of digital industrialization, create a multi-dimensional platform system, deepen integration and application, foster industrial digital ecology, strengthen opening-up and cooperation, and form a new pattern of coordinated development.

Zhuang Shuxin, deputy secretary-general of SASAC, said that SASAC has attached great importance to the role of digital economy, the engine of economic development, firmly supported the central enterprises to seize the opportunities brought by digital economy, and continuously promoted the central enterprises to accelerate group management, production and operation reform, business model conversion, and independent controllable protection. Next, SASAC will promote the state-owned enterprises to persist in further reform, and accelerate the construction of inclusive and prudent supervision methods that are compatible with the in-depth integration of informatization and industrialization; adhere to data-driven methods, and realize the sharing of key resources through the integration of informatization and industrialization; stick to independent innovation, and realize the security and reliability of key technologies and infrastructure in the era of digital economy; persevere in opening-up and cooperation, and establish an open and global value network.

Lan Shaomin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee, said that at present, Suzhou is seizing the opportunities brought by the Belt and Road Initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Zone, the Yangtze River Delta Integration Plan, the Pilot Free Trade Zones, etc., with forerunner industries such as new generation of information technology and AI as a breakthrough, to promote the integration of digital economy and real economy. Suzhou's digital economy now has reached a production value of over 150 billion RMB, which has become a strong engine for local economic development. Next, Suzhou will, by adhering to innovation for more vitality, deepening opening-up for more impetus, and using the Internet as the new strength for development, strive to build a first-class business environment, offer high-quality services, provide support, continue to promote in-depth integration of new generation of information technology and real economy, and construct the city into a highland of digital economy and industrial internet.

During the conference, Haier, Huawei, Alibaba, Tencent and other companies exchanged views on the requirement, focal points, difficulties, and value propositions of digital conversion. They also had in-depth discussions on the application of industrial internet platform and the progress of digital conversion. The conference lasts for two days. In addition to the Industrial Internet Platform Conference and Informatization and Industrialization Integration Conference & Informatization and Industrialization Integration Management System Promotion Meeting held on November 6th, panel discussions themed on the digital conversion of enterprises, the sharing of industrial internet and AI application, the common needs of steel industry, the common needs of medical industry, 5G application, and industrial supply and demand will be held during the conference.
