Foreign Media Decodes Development of Xi'an via Online Interview

Journalists of 29 mainstream media outlets from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Mongolia, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Belarus, Poland, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Liberia, Senegal and Suriname attended the theme activity that was held only-online and live-streamed worldwide.

The participants were briefed about the efforts Xi'an has made in developing the local economy by leveraging its sound industrial foundation, strong and solid industrial system and outstanding advantage in aerospace.

Despite the negative impact of COVID-19, the city recorded 2.8 percent year-on-year GDP growth in the first half of the year after containing the pandemic with resolute measures.

The attendees also learnt that Beilin District has made continuous efforts to create self-generated impetus for economic growth through implementing "Culture +", "Tourism +" and "Science and Education +" strategies. In 2019, its GDP reached 101,397 billion yuan while the output per unit area hit 4.339 billion yuan.

During the activity, Chan'Ba Ecological District expounded on its innovative green development concept that aims at regional development powered by river treatment and ecological construction supported by the development of new areas.

Later, more cities and regions in Shaanxi will take part in the cloud interview activity, which was designed to help foreign media better understand the cultural charm of the province while better presenting its splendor to the world.
