On March 6th, the activity of "Decode a Happy Aba – Foreigners Witness the Poverty Alleviation Achievements of Aba Prefecture" started in Markang City, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, which is sponsored by the information office of Aba Prefecture People's Government, and organized by CRI Online Sichuan Channel. Foreign students from Argentina, Peru, Rwanda, Thailand formed a group, going into Aba Prefecture to witness the new look of Aba after poverty alleviation, and to find the secret of overcoming poverty and achieving prosperity by local villagers.

Located on the southeastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and in the northwest of Sichuan Province, Aba Prefecture is the only Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in China. Aba is famous for its beautiful scenery, and has three World Natural Heritage Sites, which is Jiuzhaigou Valley, Huanglong, and Giant Panda Sanctuaries, so Aba is praised as "The World's Best Ecotourism Destinations".

During the opening ceremony, He Jun, director of the information office of Aba Prefecture People's Government, presented an Argentine student, Joaquín Estrader the flag. At the following communication conference, the officials of Aba Prefecture People's Government talked with foreigners about the poverty alleviation achievements in Aba, the poverty alleviation measures Aba has taken in education, transportation, health care, etc.

In the following trip, the visiting group will go into the central area of Aba Plateau, seeing the new village lifted out of poverty, and talking with local farmers and herdsmen. The foreign students will witness the remarkable achievements made in poverty alleviation in the Tibetan areas of Aba, feel the great changes in various fields of poverty alleviation in Aba, and record and spread the development and accomplishment of Aba.
