Zhengzhou, born along the Yellow River, sits in central China and connects the world. In recent years, especially since the 18th CPC National Congress, Zhengzhou has developed the featured hub system, opening system, and manufacturing system due to the implementation of an increasing amount of national strategies. The construction area in central Zhengzhou has almost doubled and the city is now one of China's mega-cities with a population of over 10 million. Zhengzhou is now a member of the "one trillion yuan GDP club".
As a national central city, Zhengzhou has stepped from central China as an unknown city onto the national stage under the spotlight of the world. It's time for Zhengzhou, with great developing momentum. In the past ten years, Zhengzhou has transformed into Amazing Zhengzhou.
On July 17, 2013, the first Zhengzhou-Europe Railway Express train marked the opening of the transcontinental railway.

At 15:30 on June 27, 2014, a Boeing 747-8F cargo plane carrying goods from Europe steadily arrived at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, marking the official opening of the Zhengzhou-Luxembourg international cargo airline and an "airborne Silk Road" connecting China with Europe.

On the morning of September 29, 2017, the 11th China (Zhengzhou) International Garden Expo, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the People's Government of Henan Province, kicked off in the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone.

An ancestor worship grand ceremony in honor of Huangdi, the Yellow Emperor, is held at the Yellow Emperor’s Native Place Scenic Spot in Xinzheng, Henan Province, on April 18, 2018, the third day of the third month of the Chinese lunar calendar, which is considered the birthday of Huangdi. Nearly 8,000 ethnic Chinese from more than 30 countries and regions attended the ceremony.

At 8:00 on November 3, 2018, the Bank of Zhengzhou Cup 2018 Zhengzhou International Marathon kicked off in the Lvcheng Square. It was Zhengzhou's exclusive urban marathon. There were more than 22,000 participants from 34 countries and regions, including China, the United States, Italy, Spain, Russia, Ethiopia and Kenya.

On the morning of April 29, 2019, the 2019 Du Fu Hometown Poetry Conference kicked off in Du Fu's hometown Gongyi, Henan Province, amidst the on-site recitation of Du Fu's poems. Lovers of poetry across the country gathered in the city to review the poet-sage's classics and paid tribute to the Tang Dynasty poet.

In June 2019, the Zhengzhou Olympic Sports Center, which took three years to be built up, was finally put into use. Located in Changxinhu New District, the center is the largest-scale stadium in Henan Province with a total area of 584,000 square meters and 11 floors above ground. The center includes a stadium, a grade-A gymnasium and a grade-A swimming pool.

In September 2019, the 11th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities kicked off in Zhengzhou, Henan Province.

The Shuanghuaishu site in Zhengzhou, Henan Province is called as "the embryonic form of early Chinese civilization". At a press conference held on May 7, 2020, archaeologists confirmed that the Shuanghuaishu site was the capital city of an ancient "Heluo Kingdom", providing further evidence for the origin of the Chinese civilization.

In September 2020, Zhengzhou was jointly highlighted by two large events, namely China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival 2020 (where the 35th Hundred Flowers Awards were awarded) and the 2020 China Cybersecurity Week (including the Opening and Closing ceremonies), welcoming numerous celebrities and notable guests to this city.

In 2022, under the grand brand of "Picturesque China" and centered on featured historical and cultural symbols including the Yellow River, family roots and Kung Fu, Zhengzhou has made efforts in telling the good "Stories of the Yellow River" and "Stories of Zhengzhou", and launched an outstanding urban culture brand known as "A Walk in Zhengzhou to Learn the Earliest Ages of China" (行走鄭州、讀懂最早中國).
