The 2018 Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Ice and Snow Tourism Experiential Event and the 33th Yanqing Ice and Snow Festival was launched
December 12th witnessed the start of the 2018 Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Ice and Snow Tourism Experiential Event and the 33th Yanqing Ice and Snow Festival. The event was based on the benefits brought by the upcoming Winter Olympics and centered on the featured product of winter sports. It is designed to create an innovative model of “cultural tourism plus sports” and to promote the integration and development of cultural tourism resources in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.

During this event, the cultural tourism departments in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei tried their best to promote the development of their own tourist resources. The three areas boast of plentiful tourism resources for winter time. Beijing and Zhangjiakou will promote regional growth with the help of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, and enhance coordinated cooperation in big competition organization, product promotion, industrial facility improvement, law enforcement, talent training and intelligence management, so as to facilitate the sustainable development of regional culture, tourism and sports.

The same day witnessed the start of the 33th Yanqing Ice and Snow Festival. The festival is themed on “A Carnival of Ice and Snow, Happy Time for Yanqing” and will go on from December 2nd to the end of February, 2019. Yanqing will host nearly 50 events and open 10 premium tourist routes.
This festival will based on premium inns in Yanqing and in coordination with the featured resources(ice and snow tourist areas, hot springs in the ancient city, local customs in the Spring Festival) in Beijing and Zhangjiakou, open 10 tourist routes throughout Yanqing and arrange customized holiday plans for tourists according to their needs.

As one of the main competition areas for 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Yanqing boasts of premium ice and snow tourist resources. Tourists can experience mountain skiing, watch ice and flower lanterns, taste delicious local cuisines and live in premium holiday inns. As the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing China and the Winter Olympics are coming near, Yanqing's tourist industry has entered a transition period. Breakthroughs will be made in resource integration, cooperation between Beijing and Zhangjiakou, and tourist route exploration, and “tourism plus culture plus sports” will become Yanqing's highlights. Yanqing will focus on improving accommodation, tapping high-end tourist resources and opening premium tourist routes to emerge as a world-level destination for holiday time.
