The ecological development in Yanqing Competition Zone of Beijing 2022 is already showing results
Trees in the planting area are tall and straight
At present, in the Yanqing Competition Zone of the Beijing 2022, the National Alpine Skiing Center, the National Snowmobile Center, the Yanqing Winter Olympic Village and the Mountain News Center have begun to take shape. Our district has always persist in the concept of "hosting the Olympic Games in a green way" and adopted the combination of in-situ protection and "relocation" protection to protect the trees in the core area of the Beijing 2022. Recently, I came to Zhangshanying town to know about the tree protection work during the construction of Winter Olympic competition zones.
In the core area of the Beijing 2022, the majestic and wonderful venues are perfectly integrated into the natural scenery of xiaohaituo mountain. According to the staff, at the beginning of the construction of different stadiums, they carried out a survey about the competition area, worked out ecological restoration plans and formulated measures for animal and plant protection. In the process of construction, they took the ecological restoration measures, made full use of the resources owned by the competition area, minimized human interference, and integrated the building, landscape and nature, and made the mountain forest echoed with the venue.
In addition, in terms of bird protection, the government of Yanqing organized experts from Beijing Forestry University to install 50 wooden nesting boxes in the competition area, providing nests for small birds in the competition area, and effectively improving the nest resources for bird habitat and breeding. In the field of controlling and utilizing outdoor rainwater, they first make rational use of the natural terrain of mountainous areas to regulate and infiltrate in low-lying areas or natural water bodies, and then reduce the runoff coefficient by means of permeable pavement and increasing green area.
Yanqing Competition Zone is rich in plant resources, and there are national and municipal key protected wild plants around. "In the planning and design of the Olympic Village and the layout of the construction site, we paid special attention to the analysis of the impact of the original trees on the site. More than 100 big trees were reserved in the construction site," Liang Dedong said. Liang Dedong , who is the director of environmental protection and sustainable development working group of Beijing Beikong Beijing Olympic Construction Co., Ltd said that for the protected plants that cannot be avoided, they adopt near ground protection or long-distance ex situ protection. Up to now, a total of 11027 rare plants have been transplanted from the competition area. They have carried out ex situ protection for more than 24000 trees and built special ex situ conservation zones.
Later, I came to Zhangshanying Town, a protective forest covering an area of about 300 mu. There was the ex situ protection base forest. Many trees originally growing in the core area of the Beijing 2022 were transplanted there. Trees grow well in the forest, including Acer truncatum, Tilia mongolica, Ulmus pumila and other trees, including Juglans mandshurica, Ulmus pumila and other secondary protected plants in Beijing.
I noticed that many trees were hung with QR codes , I took out my mobile phone and scanned it, the "past and present life" of this tree immediately showed to me. This is one of the ex situ conservation measures taken by Yanqing Competition Zone. "We have transplanted more than 24000 trees from the core area of the Winter Olympics area, with a survival rate of 90%." Pang Yuelong, deputy director of Yanqing District Landscaping Bureau, told me.
On the side of Zhangshanying town government, the first phase of the Winter Olympic Forest Park project is under intense construction. Walking into the park, footpaths, rivers and flower beds have begun to take shape. Among the forests, 331 trees of all kinds have been "relocated" from the core area of the Beijing 2022, and all of them have survived.
Because the Winter Olympic Games are held here, Zhangshanying town is the biggest "beneficiary". According to Zhang Yixian, deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of Zhangshanying Town, the Winter Olympics not only provided an "acceleration" for the development of ecological construction of Zhangshanying Town, but also put the construction of infrastructure, the development of high-quality residential accommodation and the employment of the masses in motion. "At present, our town has taken over the tree management and protection work in the ex situ conservation base of the Winter Olympic Games. On the premise of ensuring the survival rate of trees, we will also improve the landscape of the surrounding areas."
As the ecological conservation area of Beijing, our district has always implemented the concept of environmental protection in the construction for Beijing 2022. The construction of Winter Olympic competition zones has made the ideal of "mountain forest venues and ecological Winter Olympics" come true in Yanqing.
