The TCM Confucius Classroom Starts a Craze for the Chinese Culture in Slovakia

Ear acupoint therapy training lessons and Chinese tuina lessons... Recently, the mailbox for collecting photographic works on "Central and Eastern Europe in the Eyes of the Liaoning People" has received a number of photos showing the TCM Confucius Classroom at Slovak Medical University. 

The photographer Li Chunri is the Chinese teacher in charge of the project called the TCM Confucius Classroom at Slovak Medical University. He is also a professor at acupuncture working with Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The classroom is set at Banska Bystrica, a city in Central Slovakia, and the project was jointly established by Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Slovak Medical University.

Li Chunri has been staying in Slovakia for 4 years. During this period, 80 undergraduates have been certified after taking the Chinese tuina lessons and 26 postgraduates have been certified after taking the lessons on "TCM as an Alternative Choice". In addition, a student from Slovakia is now studying TCM in Liaoning, China. The practice rooms are equipped for various TCM treatment, such as tuina, cupping, moxibustion and ear acupoint therapy. They are open to the citizens every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The diverse measures have enabled the locals to learn more about the TCM culture and promoted the external treatment of TCM in Central and Eastern Europe.

Besides teaching TCM-related knowledge, the project offers classes on calligraphy, taijiquan, and wellness-centered deep breathing exercises. Various lessons together with exhibitions of Chinese herbal medicine and promotion activities of eye exercises have won great favor with the locals.

The fifth Local Leaders' Meeting of China-CEEC has been successfully held and the relations between China and CEEC have entered a period of rapid growth. Li Chunri believed that the TCM Confucius Classroom will continue to devote itself to promoting cultural exchanges and deepening friendly relations among different nations. He will contribute his part to the cultural communication between China and Western countries by staying committed to the project.
