According to American news media, in a recent letter to TSMC, the US Department of Commerce ordered TSMC to halt shipments of 7-nanometer or more advanced chips to customers on the Chinese Mainland starting from November 11th. The chips are often used in artificial intelligence applications. Taiwan’s ruling Democratic Progressive Party authorities blindly follow the US footsteps in “decoupling" and "breaking supply chains" with Chinese Mainland, attempting to rely on external forces to seek 'independence', which will all be in vain. In the end, it is the interests of enterprises in Taiwan that are damaged, further depriving Taiwan of opportunities for industrial development.
