Since its official launch, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport’s Terminal 3—hailed as the "Floral Crown of the City"—has quickly become a focal point of attention. Recently, Anastasiia, an international experience officer from Russia, visited the terminal to present a first-person view of how it blends international artistic expression, the unique regional culture of Lingnan, and cutting-edge smart travel technology.

Upon entering Terminal 3, the warm, bright tones and the floral-themed design leave a lasting impression.

Anastasiia particularly highlighted the kinetic installation "Golden Seeds" by a Finnish artist, inspired by the flora of Lingnan, which showcases the vitality of nature through mechanical movement. Meanwhile, the interactive art piece "Char Siu Bao Five Rams" created by a team from the Central Academy of Fine Arts combines the humor and charm of Cantonese dim sum culture with the legend of the Five Rams. Touching the installation triggers a Cantonese nursery rhyme, bringing a smile to both local and international travelers, and serving as a vivid medium for sharing local culture.
Anastasiia experiences smart travel
Beyond the rich artistic atmosphere, the smart travel experience at Terminal 3 is equally impressive. The international experience officer personally went through the efficient process, from self-service check-in and baggage drop-off to facial recognition clearance and RFID-enabled security screening. A core highlight is the seamless air-rail interchange system: the integrated Ground Transportation Center (GTC) consolidates various modes of transportation, including aviation, high-speed rail, intercity trains, and metro lines, enabling passengers to transfer immediately upon arrival—significantly enhancing Guangzhou’s role as an international comprehensive transportation hub.

As her visit concluded, Anastasiia stood on Terminal 3’s distinctive open-air aviation viewing deck and reflected that this terminal transcends the conventional definition of a transportation building—it is a “perceivable, warm cultural space.”
