Wuxi, Jiangsu Strengthens Power Supply Safeguards to Ensure Drainage Safety During Flood Season

Recently, State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company launched a special power-supply support operation for flood and typhoon prevention, focusing on inspections of potential power supply hazards at multiple drainage pumping stations within its service area to ensure reliable power supply for flood control.
Staff conducted section-by-section inspections of power lines leading to each drainage station, ensuring clear line corridors and normal equipment operation. Since the onset of the flood season, the company has completed special inspections of 485 flood-control pumping stations across the city and updated and improved 28 customer and line records. After identifying nine cases of soil erosion around the foundations of riverside power poles, it reinforced all affected sites.
Meanwhile, the company activated a 24-hour emergency power-supply support mechanism, with repair teams on standby around the clock to ensure rapid power restoration. Grid-based power service staff shared electricity-use reminders and emergency repair contact information through community service groups. Staff also inspected agricultural drainage equipment and field power lines in advance to ensure stable power supply for agricultural production.
Going forward, Wuxi Power Supply Company will closely monitor weather changes, continue to carry out follow-up inspections of flood-control hazards, ensure sufficient emergency supplies, and strengthen emergency drills to enhance its response capabilities for extreme weather, helping residents and businesses get through the flood season safely.
