On September 21st, the Supply and Demand Matchmaking Conference of the 3rd Global Geographical Indications Products Expo was held in Luzhou, Sichuan Province. This conference is not only a grand trade event attracting global attention but also an essential platform for Luzhou to showcase its unique charm and openess the world.

Ren Xiaobo, Vice Mayor of Luzhou and Secretary of the Gulin County Party Committee, highlighted in his speech that Luzhou is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes and rich resources. As one of the world's top ten liquor-producing regions, Luzhou stands out as the only area where both Nongxiang (strong aroma) and Jiangxiang (sauce aroma) baijiu originate. Luzhou Laojiao's "Guojiao 1573" is hailed as the "originator of Nongxiang style of  baijiu." Additionally, estate-produced sauce aroma style baijiu like Qinghualang and specialty products such as Naxi Early Spring Tea, labeled under the "Luzhou" brand, are well-known  both at home and abroad. Luzhou now has 39 geographical indications products and trademarks, along with 14  tourist attractions rated 4A, reflecting its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.

In terms of transportation, Luzhou's unique geographical location, where three rivers converge, makes it a vital  hub connecting Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Chongqing Municipality. The city hosts seven national-level open platforms, including a Pilot Free Trade Zone and an Integrated Pilot Zones for Cross-border E-commerce. It is one of the few cities in Sichuan Province that possesses both international waterway and land transport capabilities. The launch of the China-Europe Railway Express has attracted more than 300 enterprises from over 20 countries to invest operatein Luzhou. The city has also established international friendly cooperation relationships with ten cities worldwide.

Luzhou's commercial  activities are vibrant and flourishing. As an essential platform for aligning international rules, deepening international cooperation and exchanges, and promoting the shared development of nations, the Global Geographical Indications Products Expo has already been successfully held in Luzhou twice. This year's Expo attracted more than 900 enterprises from 29 countries, marking the highest number of participating enterprises and countries in the event's history, highlighting the significant  appeal and influence of the Expo.(By Dai Jianwei and Wang Lu)
