On September 28, the 2024 New Quality Productive Forces of Tourist Industry Development Seminar and the 20th China Travel Service Modern Enterprise Management Salon were held in Yaan. The event brought together experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and media representatives from the cultural and tourism industries to discuss new pathways for high-quality tourism development.

Yaan, known for its pristine ecology and referred to as the "Lung of Tianfu," boasts a forest coverage rate of 69.42%, ranking among the top cities in China for air and water quality. As one of the world's 25 biodiversity hotspots, Yaan is the birthplace and a vital habitat of the giant panda, with 39.45% of its land area incorporated into the Giant Panda National Park. The city's stunning landscapes span over 5,000 meters in elevation and are home to more than 12,000 tourism resources, including one 5A-level and twenty-two 4A-level scenic spots.

Yaan is also rich in cultural heritage, being the birthplace of world tea culture and the starting point of the Sichuan-Xizang Ancient Tea Horse Road. The city holds relics from the Long March and Han Dynasty artifacts. Its renowned local delicacies, such as Yaan clay pot fish and Shimian barbecue, further enhance its appeal. These unique natural conditions, abundant resources, and profound cultural history offer significant advantages for Yaan's cultural and tourism industries.

Nie Ying, head of the Publicity Department of Yaan Municipal Committee, emphasized that Yaan is actively promoting integrated development models such as "Panda + Tourism" to position itself as an essential global giant panda cultural tourism destination.
