On March 7, the Fourth “Golden Journey – Shared Prosperity in Gaosheng” Rapeseed Flower Festival officially opened at the Gaosheng Rice & Rapeseed Modern Agricultural Park in Pengxi County, Suining. The event has drawn large numbers of visitors from Suining and nearby areas, all eager to embrace the idyllic charm of spring.

With the theme “Golden Journey – Shared Prosperity in Gaosheng,” the festival divides the Gaosheng Agricultural Park into three main sections: Scenic Viewing Zone – for immersive flower appreciation, Educational Experience Zone – featuring interactive agricultural learning, Children’s Leisure Zone – offering family-friendly activities. Visitors can enjoy a variety of cultural and festive activities, including: “Flower Field Joy” Rural Market, Floral Banquets & Specialty Cuisine, Loong & Lion Dance Performances, Iron Flower Firework Show, Springtime Village Sports Games, Art & Cultural Performances, and Mobile Science Exhibitions. The festival will run from March 7 to March 16.

During the festival, visitors can explore an array of traditional folk activities, specialty dining experiences, and family-friendly entertainment. Notably, this year’s event features an exciting fusion of local specialties, including: Gaosheng Red Noodles, “Flower Banquet” Culinary Showcase, Sweet Potato Balls, Specialty Free-Range Pork Dishes. This combination of culture, cuisine, and entertainment offers visitors a rich and immersive countryside experience.

Loong & Lion Dance Performance

Since 2022, the Gaosheng Rice & Rapeseed Modern Agricultural Park has continuously expanded its rapeseed cultivation and flower-viewing festivals year after year. The planting area has grown from just over 1,000 mu to more than 10,000 mu, propelling Gaosheng from a county-level agricultural initiative to a provincial benchmark. In December 2023, the park was designated as a Sichuan Provincial Three-Star Modern Agricultural Park, marking a significant milestone in Pengxi County’s efforts to ensure stable grain and oil production while boosting rural tourism and economic growth.
