On November 30, 2025 L'Étape Leshan by Tour de France was held in Mount Emei, Sichuan. As the first event marking the return of L’Étape by Tour de France to the Chinese mainland after six years, the L’Étape Leshan by Tour de France attracted nearly 2,000 cycling enthusiasts from across China and overseas. Accompanied by the poetic and picturesque landscape of Leshan and the theme of “Leshan Leshan, a City with a History of 3000 Years”, the event delivered a magnificent spectacle that blended international competitive standards with local cultural charm.

L’Étape Leshan by Tour de FranceThe event strictly adhered to the global standards of L'Étape by Tour de France, offering two groups: 100km-Elevation Gain+1060M and 55km-Elevation Gain+860M. After fierce competition, Chen Hao (China, Bib No. 48) and Li Si (China, Bib No. 302) respectively won the championship of men’s and women’s 100km-elevation gain.

The race was designed not only to connect the area of the Mount Emei-Leshan Giant Buddha World Cultural and Natural Heritage and cultural landmarks in Jiajiang County but also intentionally incorporated a 17.5-kilometer K0M chanllenge and sprint challenge. This comprehensive design simulated classic elements of the Tour de France. While pushing their limits, participants experienced the natural and cultural beauty of Leshan as a dual World Heritage site.
