Recently, the national standard “Greenhouse Gas Management System—Implementation Guidelines for Building Materials Enterprises” (GB/T 46783-2025), co-edited by China West Construction Group No. 8 (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. participated, was officially released by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Standardization Administration. As the first implementation guideline for building materials enterprises in China, the standard will come into effect nationwide on July 1, 2026.

With the expansion of the national carbon market, there is a need for standardized guidance on greenhouse gas management for enterprises. Based on the ISO high-level structure, this national standard systematically guides enterprises in identifying carbon emission sources, setting management objectives, optimizing operational controls and achieving integration with existing management systems. It establishes a scientific, standardized, and implementable carbon management pathway for enterprises, providing solid support for the national “Carbon Peak by 2030, Carbon Neutrality by 2060” strategy.

Since the initiation of the national standard, China West Construction Group No. 8 (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. formed a professional team that conducted in-depth research over two years. The team focused on key aspects of carbon management for building materials enterprises, such as leadership responsibility, operational control and performance evaluation. The team ensured that the standard aligns with advanced international concepts while meeting the practical needs of domestic enterprises, significantly enhancing its operability and guidance value.
