This lantern festival, following the theme of ‘Painting China with Lanterns,’ deeply integrates intangible cultural heritage skills like lantern-making, tie-dye and paper-cutting with Chinese myths, epics, and classic historical stories. It features 10 themed sections, such as Chinese Knot Boulevard, Fortune Square, Mulan’s Legend, Ingenuity in Intangible Cultural Heritage, and Magical China. With 11 large-scale lantern sets and over 200 medium and small-scale ones, it creates an immersive narrative space and unfolds an artistic scroll showcasing ‘The Symbiosis of All Things.’

Meanwhile, this year's festival boldly pushes the boundaries of materials by incorporating environmentally friendly and renewable resources like blue-and-white porcelain, straw, medicine bottles, and chili peppers, as well as local specialties and trendy elements into the designs. Through the intangible cultural heritage concept that ‘Anything Can Become a Lantern,’ ordinary objects are transformed into artistic creations, illustrating the green philosophy of ‘Turning Waste into Treasure’ and the original intention of creation as ‘Everything Has a Soul.’

With ‘Technology + Interaction’ at its core, this year's lantern festival breaks away from traditional viewing methods by integrating AI interaction, intelligent touch control, light and shadow sensing, and other technologies to create an immersive experience across all scenes. Visitors can trigger changes in sound and light with their own hands, interact with virtual singers and simulated mechanical dinosaurs, and embark on a journey that blends reality and virtuality.

The lantern festival also adheres to the integrated model of ‘Lantern Festival + City.’ The entire city will host over 350 cultural, commercial, and tourism activities, linking attractions such as Fantawild Dinosaur Kingdom, Night Tour of Fuxi River, and Xianshi Ancient Town to form a comprehensive tourism route.
