The 2026 Chengdu Job Fair for Foreign Professionals has started, drawing over fifty firms from industries like import-export commerce, technology, and education.
Before traveling to Chengdu, Laura Carratala Benavent from Spain completed her coursework. “I’m hearing a lot tht Chengdu is the happiest city in China, so I came”, she replied. She is learning Chinese.
“Tech Innovation AI Digital Robot”, a digital recruiter created by a Chengdu-based startup, made its debut this year. It presented the company, advertised job opportunities, provided astute advice, and stayed on duty the entire time. Foreign candidates approached the artificial human to interact, with some taking photos with their phones and others asking questions in English, to which the AI robot responded.
Data shows that Chengdu has been ranked the happiest city in China for 17 consecutive years. Since 2018, it has also been listed among China’s top ten most attractive cities for foreign talent seven times.
Chengdu is currently advancing its growth into a significant national center for technology and scientific advancement. With a total talent pool of 6.85 million, it is ranked fourth among Chinese cities and 24th in the Global Innovation Index.
The job fair, held for the 11th year in a row, is currently attracting more and more overseas experts. Many people now consider Chengdu to be their home rather than just a location to work.
