On May 22nd, the 9th China Four Famous Ceramics (4+N) Rong County Exhibition and Ceramic Vocational Skills Competition kicked off in Rong County, Zigong City.

At the Opening Ceremony

During the opening ceremony, a promotional event for Rong County's ceramic industry was held, along with a call for submissions of culturally creative ceramic works. It was announced that the submission period runs from now until August 1st, inviting original works in categories such as culturally creative ceramics, daily-use ceramics, ceramic sculptures, installation art, and cross-border ceramics. Entries are encouraged to incorporate elements of the Year of the Horse zodiac, Bashu culture, traditional earthenware intangible cultural heritage techniques, and contemporary lifestyle aesthetics.

Stunning Debut of the 'Rongzhou Ceramics: Success at the First Try' Series

On the same day, the 'Sichuan Sister Peachz' Co-branded 'Rongzhou Ceramics'  (daily-use ceramics) new products were unveiled. The two types of pickle jars—a 3 kg small jar and a 5 kg large jar—are designed to meet the daily needs of different households, bringing intangible cultural heritage techniques into everyday life and giving traditional earthenware a contemporary revival. Additionally, 13 pieces from the 'Rongzhou Ceramics: Success at the First Try' series, designed by national and provincial-level ceramic masters and intangible cultural heritage inheritors, made a brilliant debut at the event.

At the Competition

Meanwhile, the Ceramic Vocational Skills Competition began at the Rong County Earthenware Creative Park. The competition featured two categories: ceramic wheel throwing and shaping, and ceramic handicraft production. Over a hundred skilled artisans from the four famous ceramic production areas, other ceramic-producing regions across the country, and Rong County competed and learned from one another. At the competition site, decorative artworks such as vase ornaments, teapot carvings, and figure sculptures were created on the spot, fully showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship and innovative spirit of contemporary ceramic artists.
