Recently, a technical achievement submitted by China West Construction Group Eighth (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., titled "A Smart Concrete Thermal Insulation and Curing Formwork", was granted a patent by the National Intellectual Property Administration.

Addressing engineering bottlenecks such as slow concrete strength development, prolonged curing cycles and delayed formwork removal in low-temperature winter environments, this technology innovatively designs smart thermal insulation and curing formwork featuring an asymmetrical thermal conductivity structure between the inner and outer layers. The formwork utilises composite panels with high thermal conductivity on the inner side and low thermal conductivity on the outer side, combined with a liquid-based constant temperature heating system within the cavity. Working in conjunction with temperature sensors and an intelligent temperature control unit, it enables real-time monitoring and automatic regulation of concrete curing temperatures, thereby maintaining optimal hydration temperatures. This formwork significantly accelerates the rate of concrete strength development during winter construction, shortens the formwork removal cycle, and enhances both construction efficiency and structural durability. It is suitable for intelligent curing in all types of cast-in-place concrete projects.
