On June 15, the "Bashu Elegance · Civilized Dragon Boat Festival" – the 2026 "Our Festivals · Dragon Boat Festival" cultural event for the Central Sichuan-Chongqing West Civilization Practice Belt, was grandly launched in Pengxi County, Suining City. In order to pass the spirit of Dragon Boat Festival folk culture, the event included cultural performances and revolutionary stories. It also shared the excitement of the occasion with more audience through live streaming.

Event Scene

Six themed sections and Chinese traditional aesthetics attracted passionate crowds. Many tourists and locals stopped by to enjoy the celebrations thanks to a range of interesting activities. Participants in a mushroom cooking competition were able to enjoy the unique flavors of the Dragon Boat Festival thanks to freshly made customized mushroom zongzi and mushroom buns.

Event Scene

There were a number of outstanding performances in the evening. The short video "If Qu Yuan Visited Pengxi", which made a conversation between old and modern era. The energy and rhythm of the drumbeats in the dance performance “Dragon Boat Racing” electrified the crowd. "A Song of Pongshan and Xishui" conveyed the spirit of the local landscapes. The play "Little Red Star Speaks" connected the revolutionary spirit of western Chongqing and central Sichuan by narrating the tale of the Pengxi Uprising. "Yu Jia'ao · Remembering Dragon Boat Festival" was a poetic dance and music performance that told old melodies that echoed the festival's timeless themes over the ages.

When the performance came to the end, a traditional Dragon Boat Festival blessing ceremony was held, conveying best wishes for keeping the illness away and bringing peace and luck.
