Over the holiday, Chengdu Wuhou Shrine Museum integrated the culture of the Shu-Han period with traditional Dragon Boat Festival customs, creating an immersive Dragon Boat Festival cultural experience zone in the plaza of the Three Kingdoms Exhibition Hall, which became one of the holiday's must-visit spots.

At the event

The event featured special sections such as scenario-based performances, intangible cultural heritage hands-on experiences, and themed exhibitions on Three Kingdoms culture. It recreated the folk customs of the Shu-Han period during the Three Kingdoms era, including Dragon Boat Festival prayers, adornments, and banquet entertainment, allowing visitors to understand Han Dynasty Dragon Boat Festival customs and appreciate the cultural heritage of the Three Kingdoms period.

Sachets

The Wuhou District Cultural Center organized sachet-making workshops, where local residents stitched the fragrance of mugwort and wishes for well-being into delicate sachets, experiencing the ancient custom of ‘wearing sachets during the Dragon Boat Festival to ward off evil and bring good fortune.’

Citizens Visiting Wuhou District Library

The Wuhou District Library was also filled with a strong festive atmosphere. Offline, themed public welfare exhibitions poetically blended classical poetry with the summer scenery and customs of Bashu, while themed check-in activities cleverly combined book culture with Dragon Boat Festival traditions. Online, a themed picture book reading contest encouraged young participants to deepen their love for their homeland by telling stories about their hometowns.

At the Shu Palace Qintai Cultural Experience Center, a handmade mugwort bouquet gathering infused with herbal romance enhanced emotional connections among citizens and tourists. At the Chengdu City Concert Hall, performances such as the ethnic dance drama The Legend of White Snake, the classic play Thunderstorm, and Zhang Haochen's piano recital were staged in succession. Covering the entire chain of culture, commerce, and tourism, the offerings ensured that citizens and tourists of all ages and interests could find their own enjoyment.
