Over the past few days, the grape harvest has been in full swing in Renshou County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province, with bunches of grapes hanging heavy on the vines as growers rush to pick the fresh fruit whilst the weather is favourable and supply the market.
In recent years, Wuai Village in Wangyang Town, Renshou County, has effectively enhanced fruit quality and cultivation profitability through the development of its grape industry. By utilising demonstration plots and encouraging farmer participation, the village has guided villagers to develop protected-culture grape cultivation in line with local conditions, turning this "sweet industry" into the "golden key" to boosting agricultural efficiency and increasing farmers' incomes. Dongfeng Village in Fuji Town has forged a new path of agritourism integration by developing its grape industry on a large scale and to high standards: the vineyards have not only yielded bountiful harvests but have also attracted large numbers of tourists eager to experience the joy of grape picking. The vigorous development of eco-leisure and sightseeing agriculture has brought new vitality to the countryside and broadened the channels for farmers to increase their income.
Today, Renshou County is using grapes as a unifying force to promote the coordinated development of large-scale cultivation and rural tourism, whilst continuously expanding the "sweet" industrial chain, turning these humble grapes into a powerful engine for boosting local incomes and driving rural revitalisation.
