On September 21st, international influencers participating in the "China Travel · Sichuan State of Mind — 2026 Live Exploration and Immersion with Global Creators" event visited the Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan, Deyang, Sichuan, to explore the site up close and appreciate the unique beauty of the ancient Shu civilization.

Located on the southern bank of the Yazi River, northwest of Guanghan, the Sanxingdui Ruins cover an area of approximately 12 square kilometers, which can be dated from 4,500 to 2,900 years ago. Jade and stone artifacts were first discovered at the courtyard of Yan Family in 1927, followed by the Ruins’ first archaeological excavation in 1934. Afterwards, in 1986, there were over 4,000 cultural relics unearthed from Sacrificial Pits No. 1 and No. 2, including Bronze Sacred Trees, Bronze Standing Figures, Gold-Masked Heads and Bronze Masks with Protruding Eyes, bringing Sanxingdui to global attention as an “awakening that astonished the world.”
Since 2019, more than 17,000 additional cultural relics, including ivory, bronzeware, gold and jade, have been unearthed from Sacrificial Pits No. 3 to No. 8, marking another remarkable “awakening” that has captivated the world for a second time.
As the largest known site of an ancient Shu capital dating back to the Shang period in the Yangtze River basin, the Sanxingdui Ruins also provides important evidence of the origins and development of the pluralistic and integrated pattern of Chinese civilization.

Global creators visited three exhibition areas in turn, stopping to admire such iconic artifacts as the Bronze Sacred Tree, the Bronze Standing Figure and the Gold-Masked Head.
Jielin from Germany, who has a keen interest in history, had previously seen masks from the ancient Shu Kingdom. It is his second time at Sanxingdui, and he said he hoped to return here again in the future.
“About Chinese history, I still have a lot to learn,” Jielin said. “And every visit is a new chance for me to learn more.”
