Emeishan, Sichuan to Build a World-class Medical (Health) Cultural Tourism Resort

Recently, the Press Conference on Planning of Development of Emeishan City Medical (Health) Resort Area and Investment Attraction was held. Emeishan City  Medical (Health) Resort Development Plan was officially released on the conference. According to the plan, Emeishan City strives to achieve a cumulative investment of more than CNY 100 billion in the medical (health) care industry by 2025, forming an industrial scale of which the value exceeding CNY 100 billion. By then, the number of tourists for medical (health) care is projected to reach 1 million in Emeishan City every year, and the cultural health care industry is expected to become the first pillar industry in Emeishan City.

Mount Emei Scenic Area will serve as the core leading area for Emeishan City Medical (Health) Resort Area, and the surrounding area will be forged into a world-class ecological medical (health) resort surrounding Mount Emei and will focus on medical services, traditional Chinese medicine, health tourism, elderly health care, sports health, healthy agriculture, health management, health culture and other medical (health) care formats, to create a medical (health) care tourism destination.

Emeishan City will focus on building a new highland for the development of the medical (health) industry in Chengdu-Chongqing region, as well as a world-class medical (health) cultural tourism resort. The city will also vigorously develop the high-end medical service industry, promote the innovative development of traditional Chinese medicine, explore the Buddhist and Zen health care culture, and expand the sojourn and health care format, to form a large health industry system with the characteristics of Emeishan.
