State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company empowers citrus farmers to achieve higher yields and incomes with stable electricity

       Recently, in the Ecological Citrus Agricultural Demonstration Park in Hupo Village, Cangfang Town, Xichuan County, Henan Province, the citrus trees blanketed the mountains with abundant fruit, and the air was filled with the sweet fragrance of citrus. The “Citrus Harvest Festival” attracted numerous visitors, with cars lining the mountain roads as tourists arrived.

　　Cangfang Town is known as the hometown of citrus. Currently, the town has built 13 premium citrus orchards covering over 500 mu each, along with 23 agritourism and picking orchards. About 2,000 households are engaged in citrus cultivation, with an annual citrus production of 70 million kilograms, generating an average income increase of around 50,000 yuan per household each year.

　　“After being picked, the citrus needs to be immediately placed on the electric conveyor belt for sorting, cleaning, waxing, packaging, and cold storage. We rely on electricity at every step of the process. Such excellent power supply services give us great confidence,” said citrus farmer Chai Xinqing, speaking to the staff from State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company during their visit to the citrus trading market in Leishan Village, Cangfang Town.

They have also conducted thorough hazard checks in the cold storage and the power rooms of the integrated water and fertilizer irrigation systems, ensuring the supply of water and nutrients necessary for citrus growth.
