Recently, in the vegetable greenhouse of Yandi Village, Gudan Town, Mengzhou City, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, China, fresh vegetables were abundantly hanging on trellises, showing promising growth. Farmers were busy harvesting and sorting cucumbers, while staff from the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company inspected electrical equipment inside the greenhouse and educated farmers on safe electricity use during winter.

In response to national policies and to promote standardized vegetable production, the automated lighting and temperature & humidity control systems are utilized in the greenhouses. This has led to an increased electrical load and a corresponding rise in electricity demand.
To ensure the electrical safety in greenhouses, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company organized staff to conduct comprehensive electrical safety inspections at major vegetable bases, promptly addressing potential hazards. They meticulously checked key equipment such as meter boxes, cables and switches, and timely replaced old or damaged components to ensure normal operation and meet the safe electricity needs of the greenhouses.
“We focus on serving farmers, optimizing electricity supply measures and addressing electrical issues, thereby ensuring the healthy development of the vegetable industry with our high-quality power supply services,” said Lan Xiaohu, Deputy Director of the Gudan Power Supply Station under the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company.
Looking ahead, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company will further refine its power services to bolster the vegetable industry, address the electricity needs of farmers, supply premium power to drive the sector’s growth, and ultimately help increase farmers’ earnings.
