Henan Jiaozuo: Adequate Electricity Drives the High-Quality Development of the Breeding Industry

“Without the reliable electricity provided by the power supply company, I wouldn’t have achieved such great success in the development of the breeding base!” said breeder Cui Guotai, while working at his Beef Cattle Breeding Base in Qucun Village, Gudan Town, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, China, on February 19.

In 2013, Cui engaged in beef cattle breeding and established a standardized breeding base covering an area of 20,000 square meters, managing multiple sectors, including breeding, and forage processing. With the increasing scale of the breeding base, from dozens of cattle initially to more than 200 cattle now, its electricity demand has also grown significantly.

To ensure the normal operation of equipment for breeding, feed processing, and other facilities, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company regularly organizes professionals to check and maintain the power facilities of the breeding bases, promptly identifying and eliminating potential safety hazards.

In addition, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company dispatchs staff to visit the breeding bases, distributing brochures on safe electricity use to breeders and explaining to them the importance of safe electricity use and precautions for preventing risks, including the safe operation methods of electrical equipment, preventive measures against electrical fires, and first aid methods for electric shock. They also post safety slogans in the feed processing workshops, cattle sheds and other places to raise breeders’ awareness of safe electricity use and avoid electrical safety accidents.

Today, with the strong support in electricity supply from the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company, over 20 households in Gudan Town have fostered thriving development in the beef cattle breeding sector, as evidenced by more than 1,000 beef cattle in stock, pioneering a breeding path featuring small-scale individual operations that gain strength from a large-scale livestock community.
