Tea harvest season is now in full swing in Neixiang County, Nanyang City, Henan Province, China, where farmers are busy picking tender green buds from 38,000 mu (approximately 2,530 hectares) of eco-friendly tea plantations. Recently, staff members from the Chimei Power Supply Station of the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company, in collaboration with workshop workers, carried out a comprehensive inspection of key equipment—such as distribution boxes and air switches—in the tea processing workshop, delivering targeted services to ensure the smooth production of spring tea.

In recent years, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has developed a support system that combines precise front-end services with intelligent back-end support to address the seasonal electricity needs of the tea industry, ensuring a reliable power supply for the Qinxi Lake Tea Industry Demonstration Zone.

In terms of service measures, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has implemented a dual-track service model of "grid-based management + specialized support". It has formed four spring farming service teams and developed a Power Supply Service Calendar in the Tea-picking Season based on the tea growth cycle. During each tea-picking season, technical specialists head into the tea mountains to inspect power lines and supporting facilities, while also conducting surveys on electricity demand. At the same time, a dual-loop mechanism of "hazard log + demand list" is established. During the spring tea production period, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company also strengthened the promotion of safe electricity use. Over 900 copies of the Tea Farmers’ Safe Electricity Use Manual were distributed, guiding farmers in scientifically managing the power load of drying equipment to ensure safe and efficient production.

"With stable power supply, the number of daily workforce during the peak spring tea processing period this year exceeded 1,100 person-days, boosting the average income of surrounding tea pickers by more than 5,000 yuan per person," said Wang Xiya, Manager of Nanyang Qinxi Lake Agricultural Development Co., Ltd.

Next, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company will continue to deepen the service innovation under "electricity + industry", injecting stronger support into the development of the Qinxi Lake tea industry base and contributing to the diversified growth of the rural economy.
