With persistent high temperatures driving a significant increase in electricity demand, the power supply faces mounting challenges. Recently, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has adopted several measures to ensure a stable power supply during the summer peak period.

To enhance power supply capacity, the Company has carefully organized specialized training and emergency drills for staff to meet the demands of the summer peak. The training covered areas such as grid operations, equipment maintenance, and fault repair, combining theoretical instruction with hands-on practice to improve staff competency. Emergency drills simulated high-temperature overloads and equipment failure scenarios, testing and strengthening the team’s emergency response capabilities.

During the drills, departments worked closely together and coordinated efficiently. The Dispatch and Control Center monitored grid load fluctuations in real time and adjusted the grid operation modes scientifically. The Operation and Maintenance Department conducted thorough equipment inspections, maintenance, and repairs, using infrared temperature measurement and other techniques to identify potential hazards and ensure equipment safety. The Marketing Department facilitated communication with users through the “State Grid Online” app, issuing outage notifications, usage tips, and energy-saving suggestions to guide users on how to consume electricity wisely and during off-peak hours, creating a positive energy consumption environment.

In addition, the Company placed a high priority on communication and collaboration with key users such as hospitals and schools, making regular visits to better understand their electricity needs and develop customized power supply assurance plans. It has also established close coordination mechanisms with meteorological and water conservancy departments to obtain advance weather and water data, which informs power supply decision-making. These actions provide robust support for the region’s high-quality economic development by ensuring a stable power supply.
