Regional Finals of 2023 China Shenyang Overseas Elite Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition Held

The Regional Finals of the 2023 China Shenyang Overseas Elite Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition recently took place at the Shenyang New World Expo.

Dedicated to "Gathering Innovative Minds and Igniting Dreams in Shenyang", the Competition focused on engaging new talent in the launch of new projects, with a total of 105 high-quality overseas science and technology projects brought to the fore and eventually narrowed down for the finals to 35 from countries such as Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and Italy.

The projects ranged from high-end equipment and new materials, biomedicine and health, digital multi-application scenarios, and artificial intelligence to the Internet of Things and could be characterized by high technology, professionalism, a strong commitment to implementation, and great market prospects.

Award-winning projects registering in Shenyang and setting up business there will qualify for a business incubation subsidy of up to CNY 300,000 and enjoy corresponding talent policy support from local government. Technology teams that choose to settle in Shenyang's various incubators and the Shenyang National Offshore Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base for Overseas Talent will enjoy preferential policies of rent exemption for a given period of time. The award-winning projects will be recommended to the competition investment fund and venture capital institutions to secure further support. Enterprises established by high-level talent still in seed and start-up stages will be eligible for investment fund support from the Shenyang High-Tech Zone, with one passing assessment and approval for Angel investment of up to CNY 5 million and particularly promising enterprises eligible to receive a maximum investment of up CNY 10 million.
