Diplomats to China Visited Weinan Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Museum

The Second Foreign Diplomats the Belt and Road City Tour in Weinan was launched on October 29. Ambassadors, envoys, counselors and other diplomats from Iran, Mauritius, South Africa, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia, Tanzania and other countries began a three-day visit to Weinan.

On the afternoon of October 29, diplomats arrived at Weinan Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Museum (hereinafter referred to as "Intangible Museum") to perceive culture of Weinan. Weinan is one of the birthplaces of the Chinese nation. Long history and splendid ancient civilization gave Weinan rich intangible cultural heritage. At present, Weinan City has 15 national intangible heritage projects, 109 provincial projects and 287 municipal projects.

In the museum, diplomats visited the exhibition areas of folk literature, traditional drama, traditional music and dance, traditional art, traditional sports acrobatics and folk arts, etc. with the accompany of expositor. When visiting the scene, they were impressed by Huazhou shadow play and other ancient arts.

Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Ndiaye, first secretary of Embassy of Senegal in China, told CRIonline Shaanxi Channel, "During my visit to Weinan Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Museum, I saw various Chinese cultures. Chinese civilization is diverse, which is one of the important reasons I love China. At the same time, China is also dedicated to protecting, excavating traditional and ancient cultures, and showing them to the world to visit, learn and spread."

Opened in 2015, the Intangible Museum not only covers nearly 10,000 intangible heritage protection projects at national, provincial and municipal levels in Weinan region, but also makes it an important place of intangible heritage collection and exhibition through the use of multimedia equipment and the addition of intangible heritage interactive projects and other measures. It is also a window for Weinan to create a city of civilization and foreign culture.

In the courtyard house of the Intangible Museum, ambassadors also appreciated the performance of Guzheng and Erhu assemble "Fisherman's Song at Dusk", Huayin Mihu "The Butcher", Heyang Muppet Drama "Zhong Kui Got Drunk", Huayin Laoqiang "Guanzhong Ancient Song" and other intangible performances.
