Foreign Social Media Influencers Marveled at Beijing's Development on Wheels of Technological Innovation

On December 11, a group of foreign social media influencers were invited to experience Beijing's technological innovation, as part of the 2020 Silk Road Rediscovery Tour of Beijing's New Development. They visited Zhongguancun Exhibition Center, Huawei Beijing Exhibition Center, Beijing Daxing International Airport, Daxing Airport Express, the operation control center of China Southern Airlines, etc., and witnessed the achievements Beijing has made as China's center for scientific discovery and technological innovation.

Zhongguancun is a crucial window to showcase Beijing's achievements in innovation and development. Lee John Barrett and Oliver Joshua Barrett, video bloggers from UK, said that Beijing and China have made enormous progress in independent innovation with the support of the government. Effective policies and an enabling environment could prosper innovative companies.

In Huawei Beijing Exhibition Center, Rachele Longhi, a video creator from Italy, gave the thumbs-up after trying a Huawei phone which is capable of capturing 100x digital zoom. Eric Marie Favreliere, a photographer from France, also praised the company, "I'm impressed by Huawei's innovation in science and technology." Fernando Munoz Bernal, a video blogger from Colombia, said, "Huawei represents innovative companies in China. It plays an exemplary and leading role in boosting innovative development. Huawei's products make people's life more convenient."

On that afternoon, foreign social media influencers went to Beijing Daxing International Airport by Daxing Airport Express with an automatic driving system. Harald Simeon Buchmann from Switzerland said, "Numerous advanced technologies have been used at Beijing Daxing International Airport, but it didn't take too long to plan, build and open the airport. That demonstrates Beijing's achievements in innovation and proves that China's powerful."

The group of foreigners also visited Asia's largest operation control center - the operation control center of China Southern Airlines. They had a deep feeling about how innovative technologies improve the daily life and enhance the building of smart cities.
