First China-Europe Freight Train in 2023 in 2023 Departs from Guizhou

At 14:20 on January 5, a train of the China Railway Express, with 55 standard containers loaded with goods including groceries, set sail from Dulaying Station of Guiyang International Land Port, which is expected to take 15 days to reach Vorsino, Russia. This is the railway express's first one departing from Guizhou in 2023. Five more trains are expected to embark on journey to Europe this month, with a total shipment volume of over 330 TEUs, representing an expected increase of 80 percent year on year.

The China Railway Express has opened more than 10 lines linking Guizhou to destinations including Vorsino, Elektrougli, Berelast, Khovrino, Budapest and Poti, which gradually extend from Russia to the European hinterland.

On November 18, 2021, Guizhou launched its first full train of the China Railway Express. The orderly operation of the freight trains to Europe started then. In 2022, a total of 34 trains comprising 1,684 carriages of the China Railway Express departed from Guizhou, delivering more than 27,000 tons of goods, and 1,684 forty-foot boxes. The categories of the commodities are also becoming more and more diversified, with auto parts, electronic products, household appliances, industrial equipment and more delivered to Europe in addition to the limited varieties of goods starting to be transported in 2021.

At present, Guizhou is promoting the smooth operation of China-Europe, China-Laos, Guizhou-Guangdong railway expresses and the New Western Land-sea Corridor, helping Guiyang build an international freight hub with the smooth connection of multi-way trains, effectively overcome the constraints of international logistics transportation in Guizhou, promote the continuous optimization of the industrial chain supply chain, and stimulate the endogenous market power,  providing strong protection for the transportation of Guizhou for the province's participation in the International and Domestic Double Cycle.
