Professor Alessandro Teixeira at School of Public Policy & Management, Tsinghua University Believes "Charming Beijing" TV Series Acquaints Others with Beijing

On February 27, the "Charming Beijing" Overseas Communication Achievements Exhibition and the 2023 Launch Ceremony of Charming Beijing TV Series took place at the No. 10 exhibition hall of Shougang Park. The event was sponsored by the Information Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and organized by CRI Online of China Media Group in Beijing. Alessandro Teixeira, Professor at the School of Public Policy & Management, Tsinghua University, Brazil's former Minister of Tourism, former Chief Economic Advisor to the Brazilian President, and Chairman of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) attended and addressed the event.

According to his speech, Beijing is the capital of China, a center of Asia, and also one of the most vital capitals around the globe. It is an extraordinary city, also a Dual Olympic City where two sessions of the Olympic Games were held. It serves as a center for culture, history, economy, and social activities worldwide. Beijing, in his opinion, is the most crucial city in the world that has the capacity to create knowledge. In the next ten years, the city seeks to take first or second place in knowledge creation around the globe. Also, Beijing will be one of the most essential cities around the globe in attracting and receiving tourists from other countries.

Alessandro Teixeira highly recognized the project "Charming Beijing" TV series and believed that it was amazing and important. At present, worldwide cities shift their focus to building their own brand images. Beijing has made big progress in the past two decades. It integrates modern development and traditional history perfectly, with the advancement of its culture, environment, economy, and history reaching a high standard. "Charming Beijing" TV series is a project not only important to Beijing but also to China because it acquaints the rest of countries and regions around the world with Beijing as well as China.

In an exclusive interview with CRI Online, Alessandro Teixeira mentioned that Beijing is a charming city when it comes to its culture, history, and urban development. The vitality and capacity of renewal have supported the continuous innovation and development of Beijing.

For Alessandro Teixeira, the former Minister of Tourism of Brazil, Beijing has been deemed a city with efficient recovery in the tourism industry after the pandemic.
