Famous Panda Artist Liu Zhong Adopts Giant Panda “Zhong Zhong”

On March 21, 2023, Liu Zhong, founder of the Panda Art Development Foundation under the China Literature and Art Foundation, Director of China Artists Association and famous panda painter, donated a bus to China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda and adopted the female giant panda "Zhong Zhong", who was born on August 15, 2022 at the Shenshuping Base of China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda.

Liu Zhong has been painting for more than 50 years since his childhood. He is known for his panda themed paintings and is known as "the first panda painter in China". Mr. Liu has been devoted to public welfare for a long time. He has been awarded the titles of "Ya'an Panda Publicity Ambassador", "Panda Blood Publicity Ambassador of Beijing Red Cross Blood Center", and Chengdu Panda Post Office's Honorary Director of Sichuan Post. He also co-sponsored and organized the International Children's Postcard Painting Exhibition under the theme of "I Love Giant Pandas" with China Post.

In his speech, Mr. Liu mentioned donating a bus to China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda as a work vehicle to show his support for panda conservation and research. The adoption of "Zhong Zhong" is not only a continuation of his long-term commitment to the giant panda public welfare cause, but also a deeper understanding of the life and conservation status of the giant panda, so that more people pay attention to the living environment and ecological protection of the giant panda. He called on people from all walks of life to extend a hand of care to the pandas, provide help to the panda protection cause and make due contributions.
