The opening ceremony of the 81st WorldCon combines the glorious ancient Shu civilization with modern fantastical sci-fi themes, highlighted by many exciting activities such as science fiction shows, stage shows, and real-life magic shows. To the accompaniment of the 432 Hz tuning, the harmonious frequency of the universe, visitors embark on a journey from the Chengdu Science Fiction Museum to Sanxingdui, Jinsha, and the Pyramids, across the solar system and the Milky Way, and through ancient and modern times, before arriving at the Pillars of Creation – where life was born – located 6,500 light-years away. Following the moments captured by films, sci-fi enthusiasts travel through time and space to relive the wonderful moments of the WorldCon over the past 84 years.
