The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has laid out the blueprint for national rejuvenation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. The series “A Glimpse of China: What Does the Chinese Modernization Mean to the World” features the global resonance to Chinese modernization and presents interviews with experts and scholars from across the world, providing an external perspective on the scientific connotation and specific characteristics of the Chinese modernization. The interviews also discuss the referential potential of Chinese high-quality development for other developing countries.
In this episode, we have Hisham AbuBakr Metwally, the first economist researcher at the Central Department for Export & Import Policy under the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Industry. He mentions that Egypt is one of the first countries to join the Belt and Road Initiative while China-Egypt cooperation has achieved successful results in various fields. The researcher says that he has been highly impressed by Chinese modernization which could be a model for Africa. Hisham also illustrates that Chinese modernization is a path of peaceful development, which not only leads China to prosperity but also provides benefits for other countries.
