The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has laid out the blueprint for national rejuvenation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. The series “A Glimpse of China: What Does the Chinese Modernization Mean to the World” features the global resonance to Chinese modernization and presents interviews with experts and scholars from across the world, providing an external perspective on the scientific connotation and specific characteristics of the Chinese modernization. The interviews also discuss the referential potential of Chinese high-quality development for other developing countries.
China is working to achieve modernization for more than 1.4 billion people, while Indonesia, with a population exceeding 270 million, is the fourth most populous country in the world. Both countries face the challenge of modernization with a large population. In this episode, we interviewed Ivy Fitriani, professor of international relations at the Universitas Indonesia. Professor Fitriani believes that China’s focus on developing human resources is something Indonesia should learn from. She applauds China’s strategy of coordinative development of education and economy. Mentioning that China’s efforts on ecological protection and advantages on green technology impressed her particularly, Professor Fitriani projects the future collaboration between Indonesia and China with great potential and plenty of opportunities.
