'Through Mountains and Seas • Falling in Love with Tonglu': Tonglu-Wenzhou Special Cultural Tourism Promotion Event

On August 23, the "Through Mountains and Seas • Falling in Love with Tonglu" Tonglu-Wenzhou Special Cultural Tourism Promotion Event kicked off along Wuma Street in Lucheng District.

"As the Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-speed Railway is about to officially open, convenient transportation will bring us closer than ever in time and space. Here, we sincerely invite you to visit our poetic and picturesque Tonglu, where you can enjoy stunning landscapes, explore charming villages, and savor local flavors." At the promotion event, Fang Jiyu, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Director of the Tonglu County Bureau of Culture, Radio and Television, Sports, and Tourism, extended a warm invitation to Wenzhou residents. 

To better share the cultural tourism markets along the Hangzhou-Wenzhou high-speed railway, and to deepen regional cooperation on cultural tourism, strategic cooperation agreements were signed by cultural tourism enterprises during the event. Tonglu also introduced a variety of preferential policies for Wenzhou residents and passengers traveling from stations along the high-speed railway to Tonglu East.

From the opening day of the Hangzhou-Wenzhou high-speed railway until December 31, 2024, passengers traveling from stations along the railway route (including Wenzhou South, Wenzhou North, Nanxijiang, Xianju, Pan'an, Hengdian, Yiwu, and Pujiang) to Tonglu East can enjoy a 30 percent discount on tickets for attractions such as Yaolin Wonderland, Daqi Mountain, and Tianmu Creek Drifting, as well as free admission to the Tianzidi Scenic Area (excluding statutory holidays), by presenting their railway tickets and ID cards. Additionally, ten Tonglu hotels offer discounted room rates to Wenzhou residents.

"We will continue to launch more premium tourism routes from Wenzhou to Tonglu, connecting cities along the Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-speed Railway and elevating the integration of culture and tourism to new heights," stated Zhang Jian, Secretary-General of the Wenzhou Travel Agency Association.

At the cultural tourism fair, a great number of residents and tourists were attracted by Tonglu's intangible cultural heritage creations, local specialties, and cultural tourism information. They sampled local delicacies such as fermented steamed buns and corn cakes, and admired intangible cultural heritage works like Tonglu papercuts and Shen'ao lanterns up close to experience the beauty of traditional craftsmanship. The fair also featured unique, exquisite cultural and creative products.
