Following the 2025 Spring Festival holiday, factories, businesses, and construction sites across Huai'an, Jiangsu, resumed operations, leading to increased construction activity and a heightened risk of damage to transmission lines. As a critical hub for transmitting electricity from northern to southern Jiangsu and integrating external power sources, Huai'an hosts 20% of the province's ultra-high-voltage (UHV) transmission lines, making their safety a top priority.

To address these challenges, State Grid Huai'an Power Supply Company has implemented a multi-layered protection system combining human and technological resources. The company established a three-tiered defense mechanism involving transmission corridor managers, local maintenance personnel, and community volunteers. Advanced tools such as drones and infrared telescopes are deployed to enhance monitoring capabilities. Additionally, the company collaborated with local governments to set up a power law enforcement office, integrating UHV protection into the regional public safety assessment system. This initiative has led to the issuance of new regulations in Xuyi County and the creation of a multi-department joint meeting system, fostering a collaborative safety framework involving government, businesses, and the public.

These inspectors are organized into grid-based patrol units, each covering a 10-kilometer section, ensuring a "20-minute emergency response circle." The network is further bolstered by drones, smart monitoring systems, and infrared thermal imaging equipment, enabling real-time surveillance and dynamic tracking of potential hazards along UHV transmission corridors.
