On March 26, State Grid Zhumadian Power Supply Company in Henan Province dispatched staff to inspect agricultural irrigation and drought-resistant power facilities in farmlands, thoroughly identifying and addressing potential hazards. This initiative aims to empower high-quality development of modern agriculture with reliable electricity.
As a major agricultural hub in Henan Province, Zhumadian cultivates over 10 million mu of wheat annually, ranking first in the province. In alignment with current agricultural production realities, State Grid Zhumadian Power Supply Company has prioritized power service guarantees for “agriculture, rural areas, and rural people”. Focusing on agricultural electricity demands, it has established a three-tier (municipal-county-township) operation and maintenance mechanism, implementing tailored solutions for each household to provide "power insurance" for stabilizing summer grain yields.
Technology-Driven Enhancements
The company utilizes drones, live-line maintenance, ultrasonic discharge detection, and other advanced technologies to comprehensively inspect power lines, distribution stations, and well facilities related to spring irrigation, promptly addressing and rectifying defects. It also enhances grid operation monitoring and dispatching management, conducts real-time voltage and power consumption analyses for all well stations, optimizes load distribution, and ensures stable irrigation power supply.
Enhanced Power Supply Reliability
A rapid-response system has been established, deploying 12 emergency repair teams to ensure "immediate response and swift restoration" during outages. The company actively coordinates with local agricultural and water authorities to align with spring irrigation schedules and preemptively secure power supply. Streamlined "green channels" reduce bureaucratic hurdles and accelerate approvals for pumping stations and farmland well electrification. These efforts resolve farmers’ urgent electricity issues, supporting summer grain production.
Innovative Public Services
Using a grid-based service model, station managers work with township governments to identify power needs and gather feedback. Convenient measures like "scan-to-apply" and "facial recognition-enabled applications" are promoted, while safety education and technical guidance are extended directly to fields. An integrated "online-offline" approach guides farmers through WeChat groups to use the "State Grid Online" app for tasks such as temporary power applications and bill payments, delivering hassle-free services to their doorsteps.
So far, the company has carried out over 80 inspections of irrigation lines, fixed more than 30 defects, and distributed over 3,000 safety manuals. Moving forward, it will closely monitor weather changes and farming cycles, dynamically optimizing services to meet irrigation demands. Through these actions, State Grid Zhumadian is writing a new chapter of "electricity empowering agriculture" across vast farmlands, safeguarding the nation's granary with concrete actions.
